02. Doctoral & Academic Background

PhD in Nanoscience — University of Groningen
2018 – 2023 • Advised by Prof. Dr. Ir. Bart van Wees & Prof. Dr. Marcos Guimarães

Dissertation Topic: Spin-orbit torques and photocurrent spectroscopy in 2D material devices and photodiodes.

  • Fabricated (opto)electronic devices from 2D materials (graphene, TMDs, hBN, FGT) in cleanroom environments (electron beam lithography, e-beam evaporation, sputtering, SEM, RIE, AFM).
  • Built and aligned electrical/optical measurement setups (flow cryostats, pulsed Ti:Sapphire lasers, continuous white light, electromagnets).
  • Developed Python code for instrumentation control and complex data analysis.
  • Awards: Best Flash Presentation (Vlieland Zernike Meeting), Best Oral Contribution (Graphene2021), Nominated for Poster Prize (Physics@Veldhoven).
